Abstract: This paper discusses the impact of COVID-19 and the lockdown on different stages of criminal trials including registrations of FIR’s, investigation, bail and court proceedings. The implication and viability of virtual proceedings in criminal cases are also discussed, along with measures to ensure a fair trial even in these extenuating circumstances.
