Abstract: This article highlights that the how deforestation, land-use change, forest fires, consumer habits and climate change are pushing the rainforest to a tipping point beyond which it will start releasing more CO2 into the atmosphere than it captures. This article also discusses about the current Brazilian Government’s attitude towards Amazon rainforest & its communities and how illegal deforestation & mining has intensified amid the covid-19 pandemic.
