Abstract: Allowing projects to operate without appropriate environmental clearances could be catastrophic. Therefore, while issuing rapid environmental clearances to large-scale development projects to enable “seamless economic growth” seems to be the swiftest pathway to address the pandemic’s socio-economic effects in India, it is not the most appropriate pathway.
